FAQ
Do I need to rinse the filter before use?
Yes — soak each new filter in clean water for about 1–2 minutes before installing. This activates the carbon and rinses off any loose carbon dust, so the first water out runs clear.
How often should I replace the filter?
Every 3–4 weeks. A 6-pack covers roughly 6 months of use. Replace sooner if water flow drops noticeably or any odor returns — closer to 3 weeks in multi-pet homes or hard water areas.
Which fountains does it fit?
Precisely cut for Fido Fave / Pokpet 10L (2.64 Gal) fountains — PT001-2 and PT003 — dropping straight into the filter slot with no trimming or adjusting. For the 5L cat fountain (PT004), use PT005 instead.
What does activated carbon actually do?
Activated carbon is a highly porous material that physically bonds to dissolved odors, organic particles, and trace compounds in the water — without adding anything to it. It's the same principle used in household drinking water filters. No chemicals, no byproducts.
Are these compatible with other fountain brands?
No — these filters are precision-cut specifically for Fido Fave / Pokpet 10L (2.64 Gal) fountains (PT001-2 and PT003). They aren't designed to fit other brands' fountain housings.
